Proper aftercare helps ensure your comfort and enhances your results. Please follow the
guidelines below for the best outcome from your treatment.
Immediately After Treatment
- Treated areas may appear red, slightly swollen, or scabbed — this is normal.
- Mild tenderness or stinging may occur, but usually resolves within a few hours.
- A small crust or scab may form as the skin heals. Do not pick at it.
First 24–48 Hours
- Keep the area clean and dry. Gently wash with mild soap and lukewarm water.
- Apply a thin layer of healing ointment (such as Aquaphor, Vaseline, or as recommended by your
provider) 2-3 times daily. - Avoid makeup or harsh skincare products on the treated area.
- Do not expose the area to excessive moisture (no saunas, swimming pools, or hot tubs).
First Week
- A small scab or crust may remain for several days. Do not pick or scratch — let it fall off naturally to
minimize risk of scarring. - Continue applying ointment until the area has fully healed.
- Avoid exfoliating products, retinoids, acids, or scrubs until the skin is completely healed.
- Protect the treated area from direct sun exposure — use SPF 30+ daily once the skin has healed.
Healing Timeline
- Redness and mild swelling: typically resolve in 1–3 days.
- Crusting or scabbing: usually resolves in 5–10 days.
- Pinkness may remain for several weeks as the skin remodels.
- Final results: visible once the skin has fully healed and normalized.
When to Call Your Provider
- If you experience increasing pain, spreading redness, pus, or drainage.
- If swelling worsens after the first 48 hours.
