Chemical Peel Aftercare Instructions

Proper aftercare helps ensure your comfort and enhances your results. Please follow the
guidelines below for the best outcome from your treatment.

Immediately After Treatment

  • Redness, tightness, and mild sensitivity are normal and usually resolve within a few hours to a few days.
  • The skin may feel dry, warm, or slightly swollen.
  • Do not touch, rub, or pick at the treated area.
  • Avoid makeup until the following day, or longer if your skin feels sensitive.

First 24–48 Hours

  • Use only gentle cleansers and hydrating, fragrance-free moisturizers.
  • Avoid active skincare ingredients (retinoids, vitamin C, glycolic/salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide).
  • Do not exfoliate, scrub, or use cleansing brushes.
  • Stay out of direct sunlight; apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs, or saunas that may increase irritation.

First Week

  • Expect dryness, flaking, or peeling as the skin renews itself — do not pick or peel.
  • Continue with a gentle skincare routine until peeling has fully resolved.
  • Avoid facials, waxing, microneedling, or laser treatments on the treated area.
  • Keep skin well moisturized and reapply sunscreen throughout the day.

Healing Timeline

  • Redness and tightness: typically resolve in 1–3 days.
  • Peeling/flaking: begins around 2–4 days post-treatment and may last up to 7 days.
  • Final result: visible once peeling has subsided, with smoother, brighter, and healthier-looking skin.
  • Series of treatments: often recommended for best results.

When to Call Your Provider

  • If you experience severe or worsening redness/swelling, blistering, or signs of infection (spreading
redness, warmth, pus, fever, or chills).
  • If you notice unexpected reactions or have concerns about your healing process.
