Proper aftercare helps ensure your comfort and enhances your results. Please follow the
guidelines below for the best outcome from your treatment.
Immediately After Treatment
- Redness, sensitivity, and a “sunburn-like” feeling are normal and usually subside within 24–48 hours.
- Pinpoint bleeding or swelling may occur, but should resolve quickly.
- Do not touch or pick at the treated area.
- Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours to reduce infection risk.
First 24–48 Hours
- Use only gentle, hydrating cleansers and fragrance-free moisturizers.
- Avoid active ingredients such as retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acids, benzoyl peroxide, or vitamin C.
- Do not use exfoliating scrubs or cleansing brushes.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, or activities that cause heavy sweating.
- Stay out of direct sunlight; apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ if you must go outside.
First Week
- Expect mild peeling, dryness, or flaking as the skin renews itself—do not pick or peel.
- Continue using gentle cleansers and moisturizers only until the skin has fully recovered.
- Avoid laser treatments, chemical peels, waxing, or other procedures on the treated area.
- Always wear sunscreen daily, as your skin will be more sensitive to UV exposure.
Healing Timeline
- Redness: typically improves within 24–72 hours.
- Dryness/peeling: may last 2–5 days.
- Collagen stimulation: continues for several weeks, with gradual improvements over 4–6 weeks.
- Best results: achieved with a series of treatments, as recommended by your provider.
