Proper aftercare helps ensure your comfort and enhances your results. Please follow the
guidelines below for the best outcome from your treatment.
Immediately After Treatment
- Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or tingling are normal and usually resolve within a few hours to a few days.
- Temporary bruising, numbness, or firmness under the skin may occur.
- Makeup can be applied right away if the skin is comfortable.
- You may resume normal daily activities immediately, unless otherwise instructed.
First 24–48 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, or hot tubs if swelling or tenderness is present.
- Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) unless
prescribed, as they may worsen bruising. - Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy skincare routine.
- Protect the skin from direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily.
First Week
- Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers; avoid harsh scrubs, retinoids, or strong active ingredients until
any sensitivity has resolved. - Mild tingling, swelling, or sensitivity along the jawline or treated areas may persist temporarily and is
part of the healing process. - Do not schedule facial treatments (e.g., peels, lasers, or microneedling) on the treated area for at least one week.
Healing Timeline
- Redness and swelling: usually resolve within hours to a few days.
- Tenderness, tingling, or numbness: may last several days to weeks but improve gradually.
- Results: collagen remodeling occurs slowly, with gradual lifting and tightening over 2–3 months.
- Best results: visible around 3–6 months, with continued improvement up to one year.
When to Call Your Provider
- If you experience severe pain, significant swelling, or unusual skin changes (blistering, prolonged
redness). - If numbness or tingling worsens instead of improving.
- If you have concerns about your healing process or results.
