Feel More Comfortable. Stay Dry. Regain Your Confidence.
Sweating is your body’s natural way of regulating temperature. But when you sweat excessively, even when you’re not hot or exercising, it may be a condition called hyperhidrosis.
Excessive sweating can affect your confidence, your wardrobe, your work, and your everyday life. Many people find themselves avoiding certain colors, changing clothes throughout the day, or feeling anxious in social and professional situations because of underarm sweat.
The good news is that excessive sweating can often be effectively treated. At Miami Beach Laser & Aesthetics, Michelle uses Botox® or Dysport® to temporarily block the nerve signals that activate the sweat glands, helping reduce excessive underarm sweating for months at a time.
During your consultation, Michelle will determine whether Botox or Dysport for hyperhidrosis is the right solution for you, so you can feel more comfortable and confident in your daily life.
What Is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that causes sweating beyond what your body needs to regulate its temperature.
Unlike normal sweating after exercise or in hot weather, hyperhidrosis can occur even when you’re resting, in a cool environment, or feeling completely comfortable.
For many people, excessive sweating affects the underarms and can interfere with daily activities and quality of life.
What Causes Excessive Sweating?
There are two main types of hyperhidrosis.
Primary Hyperhidrosis
Primary hyperhidrosis isn’t caused by another medical condition. It’s thought to result from overactive nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, causing excessive sweating even when cooling the body isn’t necessary.
Secondary Hyperhidrosis
Secondary hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that’s caused by an underlying medical condition or certain medications. If your sweating begins suddenly or affects your entire body, it’s important to discuss these symptoms with your healthcare provider.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How does Botox or Dysport reduce excessive sweating?
Botox or Dysport temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell the sweat glands in the treated underarms to produce sweat. Without those signals, the glands produce significantly less sweat.
Where does the sweat go?
The sweat doesn’t move to another part of your body or become trapped. It simply isn’t produced in the treated area, while your body continues to sweat normally elsewhere.
How long do the results last?
Most patients enjoy significantly reduced underarm sweating for approximately 6 to 8 months before another treatment is recommended, although individual results may vary.
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients tolerate treatment very well. The injections are quick, and the appointment usually takes about 30 minutes. Michelle will ice the area to be treated to increase comfort.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
Avoid shaving for 2-3 days before injections. Discontinue blood thinners 3 days prior to procedure to help reduce bruising.
Is there any downtime?
There’s little to no downtime. You may experience mild tenderness, redness, or swelling at the injection sites for a day or two. Michelle will provide detailed aftercare instructions following your treatment.
