Before & After Pictures

Are you looking for a lip augmentation achieved with dermal fillers? Miami Beach Laser and Aesthetics can help you achieve your desired result for a lip enhancement treatment. Some people simply have naturally thin lips and want a fuller appearance. Other people have noticed their lips thinning over time and may also have seen vertical lip lines become more noticeable. Lip Augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, plumper lips. Dermal Fillers that contain hyaluronic acid are most commonly used in this area. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. When injected into the lips, it will increase the volume, giving them fullness and definition. Michelle O’Neill, PA-C, is a lip augmentation specialist in Miami.

Why Patients Choose Lip Augmentation:

They want lips that look naturally fuller, more hydrated, better defined, or more symmetrical without appearing overdone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lip Augmentation?

Lip augmentation is a cosmetic treatment that uses hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to enhance the size, shape, symmetry, and definition of the lips. Treatment is fully customized to create natural-looking results based on your facial anatomy and goals.

Which lip filler is best?

There isn’t one filler that’s best for everyone. Michelle selects the most appropriate product based on your lip anatomy, desired level of fullness, and treatment goals. Some fillers are designed to create soft, flexible movement, while others are better suited for subtle definition or restoring volume.

How long does lip filler last?

Most lip fillers last approximately 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used, your metabolism, and how quickly your body breaks down hyaluronic acid. Michelle will recommend an appropriate maintenance schedule based on your individual treatment plan.

Does lip filler hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to maximize comfort, and most modern lip fillers also contain lidocaine. Most patients describe the injections as very tolerable.

How much swelling should I expect?

Swelling is a normal part of the healing process and is usually most noticeable during the first 24 to 48 hours. Bruising is also possible. Most swelling improves significantly within a few days, although it can take up to two weeks for your final results to fully settle.

Can lip filler be dissolved?

Yes. Because the dermal fillers used for lip augmentation are made from hyaluronic acid, they can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, if necessary.

Does lip filler change your smile?

No. Lip filler injections should not change your smile, especially when done with an experienced injector.

What should you not do after lip injections?

Avoid blood thinners for at least 2-7 days after treatment. Avoid vigorous exercise, sun, and heat exposure for 1-2 days after treatment. Avoid makeup or lipstick until the next day. You should not touch, press, rub, or manipulate the treated area for 6 hours after treatment.

Can I drink alcohol after lip filler?

You should avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours after treatment. Alcohol may cause the blood vessels to dilate and cause more bruising.

Does lip filler permanently stretch your lips?

Stretching of the lips can occur if you have drastic overfilling with lip filler. In the hands of a skilled injector, you will not be overfilled and the appropriate amount will be injected in your lips over time.
